The Order of the Golden Rose (50 Years of Membership)
Lois Gibson Hart Gamma Nu ’59 (Eastern Illinois University)
Lois is actively involved in the Greater Kansas City Alumnae Chapter. She said that she looks forward to Founders Day and the Golden Rose Ceremony each year and plays in a Delta Zeta bridge group.
Lois retired from her accounting position at a media buying service in 2000. She now spends her time completing stained glass projects, which she started more than 20 years ago, and has a studio in her own home. Lois does commission work and participates in craft shows. She has one daughter, and Lois and her husband recently celebrated their 25th wedding anniversary.
They live on 40 acres, where Lois raises more than 800 varieties of daylilies.
Lelah Carlton Urban Zeta Delta ’59 (Wagner College)
Lelah graduated from Wagner University with a teaching degree and taught elementary school for more than 30 years before retiring in 1990. She is married to Kenneth Urban and they have two sons and four grandchildren. Lelah and her husband have taken many tours of the American West and hope to take an Alaskan cruise for their 50th wedding anniversary. Lelah, who lives in New York, volunteers at her church and is secretary of the Staten Island Multiple Sclerosis Self Help Group. She is also a member of the Canonical Sleuths, Inc. and wrote a sestina on Sherlock Holmes, which was published in the Prescott Press.

Linda McLaughlin Scarborough Epsilon Delta ’84 (Concord University)
Linda’s career began when she interned at a local NBC affiliate while attending Concord University. She worked as the weekend weather anchor and weekday health reporter for the NBC affiliate in Virginia in 1993.
She recently started her own business, Pro-Medica Works, LLC, where she serves as a voice-over artist for a wide range of companies. She is also the host and producer of “Focus on Business” and “Accent Excellence,” which air on the local government and educational access channel. In addition to her career, Linda is an advocate for area cultural offerings and animal welfare and is an active member of several public relations groups. She also served as public relations director for the Miss Virginia Pageant from 1998 to 2000.
